- Family & Emergency Contact Details: Names, relationships, and contact information of designated family members or guardians
- Financial Information: Payment details for admission and programme fees. We do not store full card numbers or banking credentials
- Digital Information: IP address, browser type, and pages visited on our website collected through standard web analytics
Sensitive Data: Addiction treatment records and mental health information are classified as highly sensitive personal data. We collect this only with your informed consent and handle it under strict clinical confidentiality protocols observed by all staff members.

Confidentiality in Addiction Treatment
Shubharambh upholds the highest standards of confidentiality specific to addiction and mental health treatment:
- Your identity as a patient at Shubharambh will not be disclosed to anyone — including family members, employers, or insurers — without your explicit written consent
- Treatment records are accessible only to members of your clinical care team on a strict need-to-know basis
- All staff — clinical and non-clinical — sign confidentiality agreements as a condition of employment
- Patient lists, treatment details, and clinical notes are never shared externally without your authorisation

Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Limited disclosure may occur only in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: To a referring doctor, psychiatrist, or healthcare provider when you have given written authorisation
- Legal Obligation: When required by Indian courts, law enforcement, or the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985
- Risk to Life: If there is an immediate and credible risk to the life of the patient or another person, disclosure to emergency services may occur
- Service Providers: Trusted technology vendors bound by data processing agreements who support our administrative systems

Data Retention
- Clinical treatment records: Minimum 7 years following discharge, in accordance with Indian healthcare regulations
- Financial and billing records: 7 years as required under the Income Tax Act, 1961
- Anonymised programme outcome data: Retained indefinitely for research and quality improvement purposes
- Website analytics data: Up to 24 months in anonymised form
After the applicable retention period, records are securely destroyed or irreversibly anonymised.

Family & Guardian Information
Family members who contact Shubharambh on behalf of a patient, or who are designated as emergency contacts, should be aware that:
- Their contact details are stored solely for the purpose of facilitating the patient's care and emergency communication
- Information about a patient's clinical status will only be shared with family members to the extent authorised by the patient or required by law
- Family members who participate in family therapy sessions are asked to maintain the same confidentiality obligations as clinical staff regarding information shared in those sessions
